However, after SEC Chairman Gary Gensler reported that the account had been hacked, Bitcoin plummeted nearly 6% to $45,100. Data from CoinGlass shows that the price of Bitcoin fluctuated dramatically and cleared over $50 million worth of bitcoin derivative trading positions on cryptocurrency exchanges within an hour.
