Stacks has begun the Nakamoto upgrade and will be fully activated in May

PANews reported on April 23rd, according to CoinDesk, the Bitcoin L2 network Stacks has started the Nakamoto upgrade at block height 840,360. This upgrade aims to solve congestion issues and will be fully activated in May. The Nakamoto upgrade will separate Stacks' block production schedule from Bitcoin's and introduce a new way of producing Stacks blocks, updating its transfer proof consensus algorithm.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed an executive order to convene experts to explore potential AI regulatory policies. These include requiring advanced AI labs to involve independent assessment bodies, third-party verification of their safety frameworks and reports, as well as implementing a built-in “kill switch” in cutting-edge models. Newsom's office criticized Trump for being “asleep at the wheel” on AI regulation, stating that California will fill the regulatory gap at the federal level.
