PANews reported on April 23, according to the official news from Sui Network, Move 2024 version has been launched on the mainnet. This version makes it easier to write and read Move. The relatively few major changes in the source language better enable Move to handle future developments. Many of these changes have enhanced the source language and affected the compiler without requiring any changes to be made to binary representations published on-chain. Existing code will continue to compile even with these new features added.

The new features include: Method syntax, Index syntax, Positional fields, Nested use and default values for standard libraries, Automatic reference equality, Loop labels, Breaks with value.
