PayPal Senior Vice President: In the coming years, the payment capacity of stablecoins may decouple from the earning capacity of money market funds
In an interview, PayPal's Senior Vice President and Head of Blockchain, Jose Fernandez da Ponte, stated that the payment capabilities of stablecoins may decouple from the yield capabilities of money market funds in the coming years. Fernandez said, "I believe that a few years from now, you will see corporate finance directors retaining liquidity in money market funds. When they need to make payments, they will convert these funds into stablecoins for payment because it is purposeful."
