Vitalik: The most successful new ideologies in the past decade tend to focus on specific issues rather than meta-levels

News on July 23, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin posted on the Warpcast platform saying that he noticed that in the past decade, the most successful new ideologies tend to be very specific problem-oriented (i.e., prescriptions for specific problems), and relatively less involved in meta-levels (i.e., social processes about how to make decisions on specific issues). Here are some examples: · The abstract libertarianism seems weaker than a decade ago. However, its versions addressing specific problems have been quite successful: such as YIMBY (housing issue), cryptocurrency field · e/acc (theoretically involves all technologies, but actually mainly focuses on artificial intelligence) · The largest branch of effective altruism has shifted from the meta-level "try harder to ensure your donations bring maximum benefits!" to a more concrete level (such as AI safety, and a small amount of animal welfare and global public health) · Longevity movement Perhaps network nations and Glen's and Audrey's diversified movements are two exceptions - but overall, this phenomenon seems to be a strong pattern. Why do you think this shift from meta-levels to concrete levels is happening?
