Uniswap Labs introduces ERC-7683 standard to address cross-chain fragmentation
Uniswap Labs stated that in response to the fragmentation issue of intent-based systems, it has collaborated with AcrossProtocol to propose the ERC-7683 standard, aiming to solve this problem through a universal padding network.
The working principle of ERC-7683 includes users signing cross-chain orders, user funds being held in settlement contracts, and fillers competing to fill orders on the target chain. The winning filler executes operations and releases funds. Establishing an intent system standard will improve the experience for applications, fillers, and users. Applications can route intents to a wider network; entry barriers for fillers are lowered; users can achieve faster filling and lower gas costs. It's worth noting that anyone can implement ERC-7683.
