Matrixport Report: By 2025, the adoption rate of cryptocurrency is expected to reach 8%
PANews reported on October 7th, according to Cointelegraph, a report from Matrixport indicates that the global use of cryptocurrency is nearing a significant milestone. Currently, 7.51% of the world's population is using digital currency; by 2025, this number will exceed 8%, marking the potential transition of cryptocurrency from a niche market to part of the mainstream financial system. The report emphasized the growing influence of institutional participation as a key factor driving steady growth in cryptocurrency adoption.
Financial firms like BlackRock have played a crucial role in establishing trust and legitimacy for digital assets within traditional financial systems. Markus Thielen, founder of 10x Research, said in an interview that institutional products play an important role in Bitcoin and broader crypto market growth: "Whenever new ways are introduced into financial markets to acquire Bitcoin, it always drives up prices... The launch of options based on Bitcoin spot ETFs could reignite interest among institutions."
