Analyst: Federal Reserve officials begin to take potential government policies into consideration
On December 19, analyst Catarina stated that Powell said at this meeting, some people have indeed taken very preliminary steps to start incorporating highly conditional estimates of policy into their forecasts. This is a shift compared to past meetings where Powell repeatedly emphasized that the Federal Reserve would not react until policies were almost or fully in place. Trump has not even taken office yet, but some Federal Reserve officials have already begun to incorporate potential policies.
