[English Long Tweet] Bottlenecks and Highlights in the Development of Ethereum Public Goods: A Field Observation on Stagnation
Chainfeeds Guide:
Public Goods Funding (PGF) in the Ethereum ecosystem is losing attention. PGF is seen as a cost center in many ecosystems, and Vitalik's focus has also shifted elsewhere. Builders' energy still exists, but attention has drifted.

Kevin Owocki: 1) I'm glad to see the rise of Octant — they're approaching from the demand side with new vault mechanisms, which I think is very smart. I hope they (and vault users) can raise a large amount of funds and then allocate those funds cautiously and wisely. 2) I really like the bioregional financing direction that Silvi is working on. Peer-to-peer "proof of tree planting" is very cool, and this model could completely bypass the current reforestation NGO structures that are filled with intermediaries. 3) Deep Funding is doing a great job attracting top talent from new fields (such as AI) and expanding human judgment to fund open-source software dependencies. 4) I like Devansh Mehta's way of thinking about connecting ecosystem revenue centers and cost centers. Just as it is difficult to survive in nature without energy, it is also hard to survive in business without revenue. By connecting cost centers with revenue centers, we can jointly fund the ecosystem's public goods as it grows. 5) In my view, the clearest direction for Gitcoin GG25 is to keep its own overhead (relatively) low while proving that we can build impactful, high-upside alliances in one or two truly promising frontier metas (such as x402, AI, stablecoins, DePIN, interoperability, information finance/privacy, etc.). Specifically, this means running public goods funding rounds in these areas and combining them with token investments to create sustainable dealflow and vaults. PGF rounds provide dealflow for the investment engine.

Rothschild’s research institute Rothschild has for the first time initiated coverage on CoreWeave and Nebius, assigning both a "sell" rating: stating that Nebius’s stock price already reflects the most optimistic outcomes in the ongoing revaluation of the compute economy, while CoreWeave’s risk-reward profile remains unappealing. "Big short" Burry estimates that the total scale of AI leading companies' leasing commitments, purchases, and guarantees has exceeded $3 trillion.
