Opinion: Prediction markets are becoming an open-source intelligence source for foreign intelligence agencies
Foresight News reported that Joshua Chu, Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Web3 Association, wrote in Cointelegraph that prediction markets are turning US secrets into on-chain signals, becoming a goldmine for open-source espionage by foreign intelligence agencies. Joshua Chu pointed out that the transparency of blockchain allows foreign intelligence agencies to obtain early warning signals by analyzing abnormal geopolitical bets on platforms such as Polymarket and Hyperliquid. In addition, as the US Department of Justice (DOJ) reduces crypto enforcement actions, prediction markets have evolved from an ethical issue to one of intelligence leaks and national security concerns.
