Toke Group acquires seven oil tankers from SFL, enhancing its crude oil and refined products transportation capacity.
(1) Commodity trading firm Trafigura Group has acquired seven oil tankers from the New York-listed SFL Corporation, marking the latest example of traders and state-owned energy enterprises accelerating their purchase of oil tankers and enhancing their crude and refined oil transportation capabilities. (2) On Wednesday, SFL announced that Trafigura purchased four LR2 product tankers built between 2014 and 2015, in addition to three Suezmax tankers built in 2019. (3) These vessels will be delivered successively over the next six months.
