Amazon Pharmacy to Expand Same-Day Delivery Service to About 4,500 Towns in the US
Amazon Pharmacy will expand its same-day prescription delivery service to about 4,500 towns across the United States by the end of this year, adding coverage for nearly 2,000 additional communities.
The company said on Wednesday that this expansion includes states such as Idaho and Massachusetts.
Amazon launched its pharmaceutical delivery service in 2018 through the acquisition of PillPack. In October last year, the company partnered with WeightWatchers to deliver medications, including GLP-1 class weight loss injectables, for members of the weight management company.
In December last year, Amazon also began offering prescription services for some commonly used drugs through electronic service terminals at its One Medical primary care clinics. One Medical, a nationwide primary care provider acquired by Amazon in 2023, allows patients to access basic and urgent medical services for an annual subscription fee of $199.
