Producer Price Trends for January 2026
In the twelve months leading up to January 2026, the cost of goods and services purchased by producers decreased by 0.2%, a shift from the previously revised 0.5% increase recorded in December 2025. Meanwhile, prices charged by manufacturers at the factory gate climbed by 2.5% over the same period, which is a slowdown compared to the 3.1% rise seen in December 2025.
Looking at monthly changes, producer input prices edged up by 0.4% in January 2026, while output prices remained unchanged for the month.
The Import Price Index (IPI) experienced a 0.6% decline over the year to January 2026. In contrast, the Export Price Index (EPI) increased by 2.0% during the same timeframe.
