In the latest conference call, EQT Energy pointed out that as LNG exports continue to rise, U.S. natural gas inventory levels may face even more severe challenges by 2027.

The company emphasized that the current evolution of the global energy landscape is accelerating the commissioning of US LNG export facilities, a trend that will significantly impact the domestic natural gas supply and demand balance. Although shale gas production remains stable, the strong growth in export demand may further narrow the inventory buffer. Notably, the inventory pressure in 2027 will not only stem from export growth, but will also be closely related to structural factors such as frequent extreme weather events and fluctuations in renewable energy grid integration. This situation of multiple overlapping pressures may intensify natural gas price volatility and trigger a chain reaction in downstream industries.
