This impairment reflects the financial pressure faced by the project during the integration process. Industry analysts have pointed out that this asset impairment may be related to the original production cost control and supply chain integration challenges of the A220 project. By acquiring specific assets from Spirit Airlines, Airbus aims to strengthen its control over the A220 project's supply chain, but short-term business restructuring has brought financial impacts. Notably, this transaction involves key component businesses that Spirit Airlines manufactures on behalf of its competitor Boeing. According to the agreement, this part of the business will be simultaneously transferred to Boeing, marking a significant adjustment in the landscape of the aviation manufacturing industry.
