Producer and Import Price Index Declines in January 2026
In January 2026, the Producer and Import Price Index dropped by 0.2% compared to the previous month, settling at 99.8 points (with December 2025 as the base at 100). Notably, prices for petroleum products and pharmaceutical goods experienced significant decreases. When compared to January 2025, the overall price level for both domestic and imported goods was down by 2.2%.
According to data from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO), the Producer Price Index saw notable reductions in prices for electricity, irradiation equipment, electromedical and electrotherapeutic devices, petroleum products, and slaughter pigs compared to the previous month.
