IoTeX released proposal IIP-56, abandoning CIOTX across the entire network. Attacked chains switched to a claim-based system to regain IOTX.
according to market sources, due to the ioTube cross-chain bridge being attacked and unauthorized minting of CIOTX on the Ethereum side, IoTeX plans to immediately deprecate CIOTX on Ethereum/Base/Solana and permanently shut down the related bridges. The attacker’s minted coins will not be recognized; compliant holders need to submit transfer hashes through the claims portal, and after verification, IOTX will be issued on the IoTeX chain at a 1:1 ratio.
BSC/Polygon/IoTeX were not affected by the minting and will reopen the bridges for users to migrate back to IOTX after auditing, then permanently take them offline; CEX/DEX/DeFi will be notified to fully delist or remove CIOTX integrations.
