Matrixport: The trend of "BTC performing strongly in February" did not continue this year, and the outlook for March remains uncertain
Odaily reported that Matrixport released today's chart, stating that bitcoin has historically tended to perform relatively strongly in the fourth quarter, but the previous cycle did not continue this seasonal pattern. This once again confirms that seasonal performance cannot be used as a deterministic signal. February's overall performance is also usually relatively strong, but this year did not continue this historical feature either.
In contrast, the trend in March is usually more uncertain. Reviewing historical performance, March does not have stable and consistent directional characteristics, and the distribution of gains and losses across different years is more scattered, with a significantly larger range of volatility. This means that simply relying on seasonality makes it difficult to form a high-confidence judgment about March's trend.
In the absence of clear macro catalysts, when the seasonal signal itself is not consistent, short-term market performance is often more easily influenced by tactical position adjustments and changes in liquidity, rather than being solely dominated by seasonality. For this reason, traders still need to continuously track data and remain vigilant for potential trend reversals.
