BNP Paribas plans to issue up to 5 billions yuan of Panda Bonds in the Chinese interbank bond market

Golden Ten Data reported on March 12 that the prospectus recently disclosed by BNP Paribas shows that it plans to issue the first tranche of RMB bonds (Bond Connect) in 2026 through an RMB bond issuance project in the China interbank bond market. The base issuance amount is zero, and the maximum issuance amount is 5 billions RMB. This tranche includes a 3-year bond (Type I) with an initial maximum issuance amount of 2 billions RMB, and a 5-year bond (Type II) with an initial maximum issuance amount of 3 billions RMB. The two types can be mutually reallocated without restriction on the reallocation ratio, and the total final issuance amount for both types will not exceed 5 billions RMB. The net proceeds from the fundraising will be used for the group's general corporate purposes, business activities, and development, including potentially providing liquidity support to BNP Paribas (China) in RMB or purchasing RMB assets.
