The Nasdaq 100 index initially closed up 1.1%. Among its components, Strategy initially closed up 5.6%, Western Digital, Arm Holdings, Mondelez International, Doordash, and Seagate Technology each rose by about 3.8% or more. Synopsys gained 3.3%, Meta rose 2.2%, ranking among the top performers. AppLovin fell 1.3%, Starbucks dropped 1.3%, ORLY declined 1.4%, and CrowdStrike fell 3.6%. Walmart, Disney, American Express, VZ, and 3M dropped up to 0.6%, ranking at the bottom among Dow Jones components.
