Sumitomo Mitsui: 10-year Japanese government bond yield expected to reach 2.7% within the year

Golden Ten Data reported on March 18 that Katsutoshi Inadome, strategist at Sumitomo Mitsui Trust, stated that the yield on 10-year Japanese government bonds is likely to maintain an upward trend and reach around 2.7% at some point this year. Key driving factors include concerns about inflation, uncertainty in Japan's fiscal management under Mayor Takashi, and market expectations that the Bank of Japan will continue its rate hike path. On Wednesday, as concerns over oil supply eased, Japanese bond yields fell across the board. The benchmark 10-year Japanese government bond yield dropped 4 basis points to 2.225%.
