Golden Ten Data reported on March 19 that Canadian Solar announced that its controlling shareholder CSIQ shipped 4.3GW of modules in Q4 2025, a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 16% and a year-on-year decrease of 47%. Net revenue in Q4 2025 was $1.2 billions, down 18% quarter-on-quarter and down 20% year-on-year, mainly due to reduced sales of solar modules and battery energy storage systems. Gross profit in Q4 2025 was $124 millions, compared to $256 millions in Q3 2025 and $217 millions in Q4 2024. The gross margin was 10.2%, compared to 17.2% in Q3 2025 and 14.3% in Q4 2024. The quarter-on-quarter decline in gross margin was mainly due to impairment losses on certain project assets; the year-on-year decline was mainly due to reduced contributions from module and project asset sales, partially offset by higher average selling prices ("ASP") of modules. According to US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), net loss attributable to Canadian Solar in Q4 2025 was $86 millions.
