Solana Foundation President: Blockchain gaming is dead and will not return

Jinse Finance reported that on March 21, Solana Foundation President Lily Liu posted on X stating that "games on blockchain will not return," and declared that blockchain gaming is dead. Liu's remarks were prompted by a Polymarket post earlier this week, which claimed that Mark Zuckerberg's Meta is abandoning its metaverse vision after investing 100 billions USD. Although Meta's vision did not explicitly include blockchain or crypto assets, its strategy shares similarities with various blockchain-based Web3 game concepts. The report pointed out that Mythical Games is still advancing mobile games for the FIFA and Pudgy Penguins brands, while Gunzilla Games' shooter Off the Grid has made on-chain interactions optional.
