Ship tracking data shows that the vessel identified as the liquefied natural gas carrier "Jamal" left the strait on Friday morning. However, according to reports from market participants and port agents, the same tanker was recorded as being stranded at a shipbreaking yard in India last October and is currently being dismantled there. The vessel claiming to be "Jamal" is most likely a "zombie ship," meaning it is using the identity of a legitimate ship that has already been scrapped. This is the first known incident since the outbreak of the war where such a method has been used to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
