The S&P/TSX Composite Index in Canada closed up 1.81% at 31,883.81 points; the small-cap index closed up 1.56% at 1,280.36 points.

Monday (March 23), late North American session, the yield on Canada's 10-year benchmark government bond fell by 1.8 basis points to 3.537%. The yield on the two-year Canadian bond dropped by 10.3 basis points to 2.960%; the five-year Canadian bond yield decreased by 4.7 basis points to 3.180%. The Mexico IPC Index closed up 0.44%. The Brazil B3 Index closed up 3.24%, trading in a narrow high range for more than half of the session. The Argentina MERVAL Index rose 1.97% to 2,779,000 points.
