Gold Continues to Rise as Investors Assess the Outlook for Ceasefire Negotiations
Gold Prices Climb Amid US-Iran Ceasefire Developments
Gold prices continued to rise on Wednesday, building on momentum after ending a nine-day decline. The precious metal surged up to 2.8%, following a 1.6% increase the day before, as investors considered the potential for ceasefire negotiations between the US and Iran. The rally came after the US introduced a 15-point proposal aimed at resolving the conflict with Iran. Meanwhile, equities and bonds also saw gains, while oil prices dropped. Despite Iran rejecting the ceasefire plan and persisting with attacks on Israel and Gulf Arab nations, the move was interpreted by markets as a sign that the US is seeking a path toward de-escalation, according to commodities expert Helen Amos.
