Offshore yuan interbank lending rates fall in the short term and rise in the long term

Golden Ten Data reported on March 26 that offshore RMB Hong Kong Interbank Offered Rate (CNH HIBOR) on Thursday showed short-term rates falling and long-term rates rising. The overnight HIBOR fell by 12 basis points to 1.31318%, marking a new low since March 5. In addition, over 30% of the HKMA’s RMB 30 billion intraday repo facility has been utilized. The one-week HIBOR dropped by 7 basis points to 1.52515%, and the two-week HIBOR fell by 7 basis points to 1.55000%, both reaching the lowest levels since March 9; the one-year HIBOR slightly increased to 1.87515%, hitting a new high since February 26.
