Golden Ten Data reported on March 26 that on Thursday, gold prices retreated after rising for two consecutive days. Investors are awaiting clearer signs of progress in easing tensions in the Middle East, as its outcome may impact the global financial and monetary policy landscape. U.S. President Trump stated that Iran is eager to reach an agreement to end nearly four weeks of conflict. This contradicts statements from Iran’s foreign minister, who said Iran is reviewing the U.S. proposal but has no intention to hold talks to end the conflict. Kyle Rodda, senior financial market analyst at Capital.com, commented: “In the next 24 to 48 hours, (gold prices) will mainly depend on reactions to news about the negotiations.” “The real big moves might happen at the beginning of next week, when it becomes clearer whether the United States will launch a ground invasion of Iran over the weekend.” Due to concerns that the prolonged conflict in the Middle East will further disrupt energy flows, Brent crude oil futures climbed back above $100 per barrel.
