On March 26th, Yu Xian, the founder of SlowMist, announced that an exchange has taken down the page that allowed users to input plaintext mnemonic phrases for asset recovery. He stated that the security model for online web pages is inherently very low, significantly lower than extensions or apps. Furthermore, the practice of collecting plaintext mnemonic phrases on online web pages is easily imitated and learned by phishing websites, and has long been a common phishing tactic. Finally, as a well-known wallet provider, such actions that lower the wallet's security model should not exist from the perspective of user responsibility.
