OANDA Japan Encourages Users to Switch to MT5 Ahead of MT4 Discontinuation
OANDA Japan to Phase Out MetaTrader 4 Support
OANDA Securities, the Japanese branch of OANDA, has announced plans to end support for MetaTrader 4 before the end of the year. The company pointed to increased cybersecurity standards and the platform’s outdated maintenance as key factors behind this decision.
This announcement comes after previous measures to reduce MT4 services, including the closure of two MT4 servers in 2024 and encouraging clients to switch to MetaTrader 5. The change is part of a wider trend in the industry, with many brokers moving their clients to MT5 as MT4 support continues to wane.
OANDA’s Japanese division confirmed that all MT4 services will be discontinued at the end of the year.
