Swiss KOF Economic Barometer: Economic prospects worsen
KOF Economic Barometer Sees Significant Decline in March
In March, the KOF Economic Barometer dropped by 7.7 points, reaching 96.1, down from a revised 103.8 in February. This decline signals a more subdued economic outlook, as shown by weaker results in both production and demand-related indicators that make up the Barometer.
Notably, the manufacturing sector and foreign demand indicators suffered considerable setbacks. Various sub-indicators tracking business activities in manufacturing and construction also pointed to negative trends. In particular, export figures and the overall business climate showed marked deterioration.
