Trump Threatens Strikes on Iran Over Strait of Hormuz Closure

On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump warned that the United States would destroy Iran’s power infrastructure, oil facilities, and Kharg Island if the crucial Strait of Hormuz is not reopened immediately and a peace agreement is not reached soon.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump stated, “The United States is engaged in serious negotiations with a new, more reasonable government in Iran to bring an end to our military activities there.” He added that significant progress had been achieved, but cautioned that if an agreement is not finalized in the near future—and if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed—the U.S. would take decisive action.
