Capital Economics: Even if the Middle East war ends quickly, oil prices may remain high
Capital Economics stated in a research report that even if the Iran war ends soon, oil prices may remain high. The institution noted that a U.S. withdrawal within two to three weeks remains consistent with its baseline scenario, which projects Brent crude oil prices to stay at around $80 per barrel through the end of 2026, thereby maintaining a lasting energy risk premium. Capital Economics pointed out that this baseline scenario may include moderate damage to energy infrastructure.
