French manufacturing production remained unchanged in February 2026
Manufacturing Sector Update – February 2026
In February 2026, the manufacturing sector maintained steady production levels, following a slight growth of 0.2% in January. However, overall industrial output experienced a decrease of 0.7%, reversing the modest gain seen the previous month. This downturn was largely attributed to the unusually warm weather during February.
The stability in manufacturing output was the result of contrasting trends among key industries. Production in the food and beverage sector continued to decline, dropping by 0.8% after a 0.9% decrease in January. The transport equipment sector also saw a reduction, falling by 0.8% after a significant 8.5% increase the month before. On the other hand, some sectors experienced a moderate recovery.
