⑴ Institutional surveys indicate that Malaysia's palm oil inventory in March is expected to fall to 2.18 million tons, down sharply by 19.2% month-on-month, marking the largest single-month decline in nearly three years and the lowest level since last July. ⑵ The sharp drop in inventory is mainly due to a surge in export demand, with palm oil exports in March expected to reach 1.56 million tons, a significant increase of 38.3% from February, completely reversing the downward trend of the previous month. ⑶ Market participants pointed out that Indonesia's increased export tariffs prompted buyers to shift to sourcing from Malaysia in March. This structural change is directly reflected in the strong export data. ⑷ In terms of production, crude palm oil production in March is expected to rise by 4% month-on-month to 1.34 million tons, ending a four-month downward trend, but still marks the lowest March production in two years. ⑸ Analysts stated that the current inventory level remains within a controllable range, but going forward, market focus will shift to macro factors including global market conditions, the Middle East situation, and the direction of crude oil prices. Production and export data for April will also be key drivers in determining the next step.
