Meta is continuing to advance its human resources restructuring and layoff plans in the San Francisco Bay Area, according to Golden Ten Data on April 3. Two official documents submitted this week to the California Employment Development Department show that Meta plans to reduce 124 positions in its Burlingame office and 74 positions in its Sunnyvale office. The documents reveal that the layoff process for nearly 200 employees has been scheduled to take effect officially in late May this year and will be permanent. This latest move is an extension of a series of broad personnel adjustments by Meta in recent weeks. The company has already cut about 700 positions across its system in the past few weeks, impacting departments such as recruitment, commercial sales, daily operations, and the much-anticipated Reality Labs division focused on the metaverse.
