GoPro will cut 23% of its global workforce to reduce costs

Glonghui, April 8 | On April 7 local time, action camera manufacturer GoPro filed documents with the US Securities and Exchange Commission disclosing that its board of directors has approved a restructuring plan aimed at reducing operating costs and increasing operating leverage. The company expects to lay off about 145 employees globally, accounting for approximately 23% of its total headcount at the end of the first quarter (631 employees). The layoffs will begin in the second quarter of this year and are expected to be largely completed by the end of the year. The filing shows that the restructuring plan is expected to result in total costs of approximately $11.5 million to $15 million.
