Due to tight energy supply, Singapore government agencies are imposing restrictions on air conditioning use.

Golden Ten Data reported on April 9 that due to Middle East conflicts leading to global energy supply tensions, Singapore government agencies will take measures to reduce electricity consumption in order to enhance energy resilience. In a statement released on Wednesday, the country’s National Environment Agency announced that immediate measures include setting air conditioning temperatures to 25 degrees Celsius or higher, controlling the operating hours of air conditioning, lighting, and elevators, as well as unplugging or shutting off non-essential devices when not in use. Singapore had previously warned that, as a result of extensive disruptions to Middle East oil and natural gas production and transportation, fuel prices are expected to remain high for the foreseeable future and electricity prices will rise in the coming months.
