With inflation persisting, U.S. consumer spending showed minimal growth in February
According to Golden Ten Data on April 9, data from the U.S. Department of Commerce shows that under ongoing inflation, U.S. consumer spending saw little growth in February. Meanwhile, the persistent inflation is expected to further intensify due to the war in Iran. Consumer spending, adjusted for inflation, increased by 0.1% from January. The core PCE index, excluding food and energy items, rose by 0.4% from January, while the Federal Reserve’s preferred core PCE price index recorded an annual rate of 3.0%.
