Strategy spends 1 billions USD in a single week to increase bitcoin holdings, a 203% surge compared to the previous week
ChainCatcher news, according to SoSoValue data, as of 8 a.m. Eastern Time on April 13, 2026, the total net weekly Bitcoin purchases by global listed companies (excluding mining companies) reached $1 billion, a 36% increase compared to the previous week.
Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) announced an investment of $1 billion (an increase of 203% compared to last week), purchasing 13,927 Bitcoin at a price of $71,902 each, bringing its total holdings to 780,897 Bitcoin.
Japanese listed company Metaplanet did not purchase Bitcoin last week.
In addition, one other company purchased Bitcoin last week. The French Bitcoin company announced on April 13 an investment of $2.6 million, buying 37 Bitcoin at $70,168.90 each, bringing its total holdings to 2,925 Bitcoin.
As of press time, the total number of Bitcoin held by global listed companies (excluding mining companies) in the statistics is 1,047,244, which is an increase of 1.35% compared to last week. The current market value is about $74.29 billion, accounting for 5.2% of Bitcoin's circulating market value.
