Honda to import the all-electric model "INSIGHT" from China

Glonghui, April 16 – Honda announced on April 16 that it will launch a new all-electric vehicle, the "INSIGHT." This model, produced in China and modified to meet Japanese specifications, will be imported into Japan. Although Honda previously stated that it would shift its strategy to focus on EVs, the limited range of EV models available in Japan has led the company to expand its product line through reverse imports. The model is based on a pure electric SUV produced by Honda's joint venture in China, also aiming to boost the operating rate at its Chinese factories, which has been sluggish due to poor sales. Following the "Odyssey" minivan, this will be Honda's second China-produced model sold in Japan.
