Singer Fitzgerald donates US$10 million to pro-cryptocurrency PAC
- Donation strengthens political support for cryptocurrencies in the US.
- Pro-crypto PAC gains momentum in the US election.
- Tether and Cantor expand regulatory influence.
Cantor Fitzgerald, a traditional Wall Street firm, donated $10 million to a political committee supporting candidates aligned with the cryptocurrency sector, amid the ongoing election season in the United States.
The contribution was directed to the Fellowship PAC. The committee's goal is to support candidates committed to clearer and more predictable rules for digital assets, a topic that has been gaining prominence among legislators and companies in the sector. (This is a record of the Federal Election Commission.)
The connection between Cantor Fitzgerald and the crypto market is not recent. Since 2021, the company has acted as custodian of Tether's reserves, expanding its presence in the ecosystem. This relationship was even questioned during Senate hearings involving Howard Lutnick, former leader of the company and current US Secretary of Commerce.
The Fellowship PAC was created in September 2025 with over $100 million in financial commitments. Recently, the group announced Jesse Spiro, an executive connected to Tether's operations in the United States, as its chairman, reinforcing the connection between large companies in the sector and politics.
Besides Cantor Fitzgerald, other companies have also participated in this movement. Anchorage Digital, a bank focused on cryptocurrencies, contributed US$1 million to the same committee. In a statement, the company said that the initiative seeks to encourage a clearer and more functional regulatory environment for the growth of cryptocurrencies.
“As the first federally chartered cryptocurrency bank, we have always believed that cryptocurrencies and sound regulation go hand in hand,” the spokesperson said. “This commitment to regulatory clarity has guided our relationship with both Democratic and Republican governments, and will continue to do so.”
The rise of these political committees indicates a growing effort by the industry to influence regulatory decisions in the United States. In the previous election, industry-linked PACs raised hundreds of millions of dollars, solidifying their strategic role in the political debate.
Meanwhile, the Fellowship PAC has already directed resources to campaigns for Senate and House candidates, expanding its reach in key states and reinforcing the importance of cryptocurrencies in the American political landscape.
