According to reports, U.S. officials are discussing requiring imported vehicles to contain a certain proportion of American-made components. Another plan under consideration is to limit the ability of car manufacturers to reduce tariffs under the USMCA, thereby increasing the cost of transporting vehicles across borders. Sources familiar with the matter stated that these considerations are still in the early stages, and the specific implementation method has not yet been determined.
