DefiLlama founder responds to Aave TVL controversy: Impact of circular lending has been removed
Odaily reported that DefiLlama founder 0xngmi stated on X that the recent claims about Aave TVL being overestimated due to looped lending are inaccurate.
He explained that in TVL statistics, borrowed assets are excluded, so looped lending does not inflate the total value locked. For example, deposited assets are counted towards TVL, but the corresponding borrowed portion is offset. He also added that DefiLlama has already removed repeated calculations caused by Ethena-related collateral loops, and considers the related doubts to be unfounded.
