Canadian Business Outlook Survey—Q1 2026

The Business Outlook Survey (BOS) gathered insights through face-to-face, video, and telephone interviews conducted between February 5 and 25, 2026, prior to the onset of conflict in the Middle East. The Business Leaders’ Pulse, an online survey, is carried out monthly, with the most recent data reflecting responses from January to March 2026.

This quarter’s report also features findings from follow-up conversations with BOS participants, held from March 18 to 27, after the Middle East conflict began. These firms were chosen for their potential vulnerability to the war’s economic impact. Additionally, the results are enhanced by focused discussions with key industry representatives.
