Kevin Zhang, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of TSMC, stated that the company currently has no plans to adopt ASML’s latest high numerical aperture extreme ultraviolet (high-NA EUV) lithography machine, which is priced at over 350 million euros (approximately 410 million US dollars) per unit. Zhang also announced that the company’s A13 advanced process chips will go into production in 2029. “We are still able to benefit from the existing extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines,” Zhang said, adding that the next-generation high numerical aperture EUV lithography machines are “very, very expensive.”
