According to Odaily, a user profited $34,000 on the Polymarket weather prediction market by tampering with weather sensors at a Paris airport. Polymarket previously settled predictions using data from Météo France sensors near Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. The user bought options for temperatures far exceeding market expectations at very low prices. The user then used a portable heat source to warm the sensors, causing the readings to spike sharply in a short time and be recorded as the day's highest temperature. This act occurred twice, on April 6 and April 15. Météo France has since detected the anomaly and pressed charges.
