Trump Media Group's core business faces setbacks, shifting focus to the crypto and financial services sectors
Foresight News reports, according to the Associated Press, that Trump Media & Technology Group is shifting its business focus significantly from social media towards sectors such as crypto and financial services. Since Trump was re-elected in November 2024, the company's share price has dropped by more than 60%, with shareholder wealth evaporating by over $6 billion. Recently, the company has not only experienced high-level management turmoil, but has also applied for a "crypto blue-chip ETF" and plans to establish a large-scale Bitcoin reserve. Analysts believe that, amid sluggish growth in its core social media business, Trump Media & Technology Group is attempting to leverage the currently favorable policy environment to pursue a cross-sector transformation, aiming to stabilize market confidence and retain investors.
