Golden Ten Data reported on April 24 that trade analytics company Kpler stated two dry bulk carriers passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday. According to Kpler data analyst Rebecca Geddes, one of the vessels, named "Tema Express," is owned and operated by the German Hapag-Lloyd company. This marks the first time since the outbreak of the conflict that a vessel operated by a German shipping company has transited the strait. The "Tema Express," flying the Liberian flag, reappeared in the waters near Oman after nearly three weeks of signal loss. Another vessel crossing the strait, "LB Energy," is registered under the Panamanian flag. Due to carriers’ ongoing security concerns, traffic through the strait remains very limited.

According to data from the US Department of the Treasury, in the 12 months ending July this year, overseas investors made net purchases of US stocks totaling $942 billion, marking the highest rolling 12-month total since records began in 1985. The net purchases in the second quarter alone reached $426 billion, setting a new single-quarter record. Meanwhile, overseas demand for US Treasuries has noticeably cooled, with purchase volumes falling significantly. As a result, the US is facing higher costs in government debt financing.
