JPMorgan executive: Tokenization will transform ETFs and the entire fund industry, but it will take years before good use cases emerge.
ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, Ciarán Fitzpatrick, Global Head of ETF Products at JPMorgan Securities Services, stated: "We believe tokenization will definitely drive market change—not only for ETFs, but for the entire fund industry as well."
Ciarán Fitzpatrick pointed out that, given the many potential benefits of tokenization—such as more convenient subscription and redemption, "near-instant settlement," and uninterrupted access—the experimentation with ETF tokenization is still underway. He added: "I believe tokenization will become part of the ETF ecosystem, but it will be several years before we see some truly good practical use cases."
